New Beginnings
I finally made it! New and wonderful things are happening in my life. I am so excited about the things to come. My husband and I are starting a new, fresh start. So, what has happened you ask? God has blessed us tremendously. I turned 30, got a new job, moved to Maryland and who knows what else is to come! I just wanted to check in and will provide more of an update once everything happens.

Things are changing
Things are changing. I finally hit 30 last week and I still don't know how I feel about it. I mean, it's a different feeling, like I need to make life changing decisions or something. What I do know is that I was at work, looking in the mirror and all of a sudden, smack dead in the front of my head was a forming grey hair. I say forming because it wasn't grey yet, just the tip of it. I pulled out my scissors and immediately cut it. I can't believe it tried to peek through! Things are changing for me, new opportunities, so I guess I can't complain. Good news soon to come, and I will most definitely keep you informed on what 30 has to bring. Instead of partying and lower car insurance, I think 30 will bring career changes, completion of my masters, and starting a family. We shall see how things turn out but...yeah, 30 is still the new 20!

OMG!!
So I know I haven't posted in a while but I have been pretty busy with school, work, and home. PLUS...I am turning 30 this month, so I am getting ready for a little party. You know, I don't know how I feel about this 30 turning. It's like I am about to turn down this road on my way to 40 and then 50, and then...I feel sad because I am leaving behind the years that I feel I accomplished the most in, which are of course my 20's! I kind of run teenage years and the 20's together but let's recap. I graduated, joined the military, traveled the world, lived in other countries, got out of the military, got my bachelors degree, got married, traveled some more, learned new things, started a new career, started my masters program, and now I am turning 30. Now, my biological clock is ticking. I feel like I should be going into a new direction, but I don't know where to go. Where do you go, what do you do? Who am I supposed to be? Are these the years I should have everything straight? I feel like the fun is over now, I mean honestly, what do I look like saying I am 30 and still going to the club? It just sounds...not old, but more mature. I have to raise the stakes. I need to pursue golfing and start getting active so my body forgets we have turned 30. On top of all that...I can't stop it, it will happen, nothing I can do about it, even if I lie and say I am another age, the truth will still be that I am 30! Oh well, I guess I better get it together and embrace this new age like I have done all the rest. I can't do anything but go up from here, so up, up and AWAY!!!

Really?!
Marriage is wonderful, I love being married but something people don't understand is when you get married, that is an extra person, almost like having kids. A few people I know, who are not married, assume that when you get married it's an extra income. Yeah it is an extra income, but at the same time, it's extra electricity being used, extra food to buy, extra clothes, extra money on vacations, extra, extra, extra. So although it's an extra income, you have to consider their prior financial obligations. So there is a benefit to being married and there is a little extra money, but it is not the road to financial freedom. If you really want extra money, a second job helps, overtime also helps, but another person doesn't help AS much as you would think.
If both parties are debt free, then you most likely will be living large lol but not everyone accomplishes those tasks or have the income to do so. I guess until a person actually gets married, is when they will understand what I mean. People always think they know what they are talking about when they are not even in that situation or have had the experience. I can honestly say I used to feel the same way, until I got married then I realized other factors came into play when it comes to finances. I am not broke, I would say I have always been responsible anyway, but just know that it's not easy. I love being married, I love my husband, I love being with my best friend, and so on. Just know the facts!

People Don't Read
Ok, so I have to confess that today, I did not read. I always talk about how frustrating it is when you send an email to only receive back only half or nothing at all of what was asked. I had homework today and scanned through so I would have enough time to complete it, but then I missed a few parts and ended up having to go back.
Are we that occupied with life and work, that we forget to read? I am not just talking about reading an email, instructions, or a book, but also reading others expressions and emotions. We get so caught up that we didn't realize our co-worker or friend has been having some personal difficulties and was screaming for help. We have to read, it is so important to stop and think about others besides ourselves. People need our help.
Reading helps to understand what to do or when to do. It teaches us new words or new situations. It provides answers to our questions. So please read first. It is annoying when you have already been told something but you were so occupied or lazy that you didn't take the time to read and now you are wasting the time of others.
Just something that happens everyday I guess...

Love and Hip Hop
So mentioned before how I love reality shows. I don't have drama in my life but I don't mind watching drama presented on television for entertainment. So, I have been watching the reality show Love and Hip Hop. It is pure comedy, at the same time it's kind of sad. So there is a woman named Mimi who is dating a guy named Stevie J, Steve is a womanizer, he loves women and although he is with someone, and has a child by Mimi, he continues to mess around on her with one of his artist names Joseline. Now Joseline is not the only other woman he messes with but these are the two women on the show.
My problem-Why be with someone who treats you like that? Not to say women don't do it but why would you want to make yourself look like a fool on national television. This guy has made her look like a complete idiot. Then there is Joseline. Why would you want to be the other woman in hopes of one day being THE woman? Why be the one to break up a home, be the one to break a child from her father? I don't think women look at the big picture. We already know men don't think like that. Maybe it's because she isn't a mother herself and didn't have a mother and father, as she has stated, in her life. I think that makes a big difference on the type of morals you have.
This relationship is not the only one with problems. Now we discuss Erica and Lil Scrappy. I think Erica is smart, she is not going to put up with the games. She did give Scrappy a chance by taking him because but I don't think she will have him to make her look stupid again. Scrappy, I think, is greedy, and his mother doesn't make the situation better by dropping her two cents. I think she needs to let Scrappy grow up and learn to make some hard decisions on his own. I, myself, am not a mother so I want to ask, do you think as a mother it is your job to involve yourself is the affairs of your child? Don't you think at some point you have to stop and say "You are a grown man or woman, and as a grown man or woman you have to fall in order to learn how to get back up, I won't always be around to dig you out, so these are things you need to learn." Now Scrappy is messing around with this other woman who he allowed to seduce him into a relationship that he probably shouldn't have allowed, but again he is greedy and wasn't able to push this plate back.
I guess one day they will all learn their lessons and know what it is to truly be happy with yourself and learn to love and respect others.

My weekend
I had a very interesting weekend. I had played Bingo once before and thought it was boring but last night, with friends, I attended "Bingo After Dark" It was like going to the Bingo club. They had a DJ, dance floor, disco lights, and people had on glow sticks. It was awesome. I will say something that I do not like about Bingo is that it gets your all hyped to only let you down when someone else yells "Bingo!!" I was 2 numbers away from having it damnit!! How could I not win? I hate losing money, some people don't mind but as soon as I find myself not winning, I am ready to pull out. My husband always tells me, "scared money doesn't make money," and my response is scared money doesn't lose money either."
I also like to Pai Gow because when playing Pai Gow you break even most of the time. You are always winning or breaking as long as you are beating the dealer or the dealer has Pai Gow. If I had the money, I most definitely wouldn't mind gambling more. It's fun! I always see people, especially in Vegas, come in and put over $1,000 down on the table and play every last penny. I mean if they are going to throw it away, I can take half, I don't mind at all. I will put good use to it.
I also checked out Z Tejas for the first time and it wasn't bad at all, had a couple of drinks with friends and then Bingo. It was a cool weekend, didn't do much but that was the highlight of my weekend.
So now I have to look forward to watching my TV shows this week! I am always excited about my reality shows, so I will be discussing that will you all later. So, til next time!
