A Learning Experience

I am extremely thankful for the opportunity to go to school and not have to pay for it. I served my time in the military and as a reward I receive a free education. I guess its not necessarily free because I put in a lot of work and dedication into serving my country.

I don't think a lot of people realize how much goes into being a soldier of the armed forces. I wasn't free to always do the things I wanted. I didn't start school until the last couple of years I was in. I wasn't allowed to attend school, and we got called in at wee hours of the morning and worked 12-20 hours a day. We got up early to do physical training, and I have worked in the freezing snow and stood in the pouring rain during exercises. I will say it was a great experience, I came out a better person, I learned a lot about attention to detail and learned to think smarter and not harder.

So, I just started back school after taking a few months off (about to share something personal). I took this time off because I was supposed to be having a baby but I had a miscarriage at the beginning of my first trimester. I decided I should just take the break anyway since we were going to have a lot going on during that time anyway.

I am back to school and it feels good, I feel like I have a purpose now, not that I didn't before, but I know that once I am done it is going to take me a while to get out of school mode and into another mode. I decided that once I am done with my Masters degree next year, I will try and become a online instructor. I think this will help me to help other students, continue to be updated on my skill, as well as make a little extra money on the side to prepare for a family when God does allow us one.

I am happy though, I encourage education! I think it is so important, and working in Human Resources has helped me to realize just how important an education is, especially these days. I will be sure to keep you all updated on my studies and maybe share some things with you that I have learned. Like today I learned the history of Educational Psychology and when it originated. I found it to be very interesting and how it actually impacted the rest of the educational field.

Well, feel free to ask questions, or share your thoughts!
